About
Before we die is a street project across London. Stickers carrying the prompt Before I die I want to… are placed on lampposts, bins, bus stops, and walls. Each one has a QR code that brings you here.
This site is the digital layer. You can read what other Londoners have written, and add a wish of your own. No name, no sign-up, no profile.
The project is inspired by Candy Chang's Before I Die public walls — adapted to a sticker-and-web hybrid, rooted in London.
Privacy
We never ask for your name, email, phone, or anything else that identifies you. We store:
- the text of your wish
- the borough you tagged (optional)
- a one-way hash of your IP address, salted with a secret that rotates daily, used only for rate limiting
- a random token returned to your browser so you can delete your own wish later
We do not run third-party analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Hotjar, no cookies beyond what's strictly required.
You can delete any wish you posted by tapping the ⋯ menu on it. The delete works on the device you posted from.
